Adding Windows Live Search to Firefox
I haven't seen anybody mention this, so I thought I would throw together a quick post. If you hit Windows Live Search from Firefox on your Mac, you can easily change the default search box in the upper right corner of Firefox. The screens below show the steps:
First, hit the Windows Live Search page from Firefox on your Mac. (Maybe on Windows also, but I haven't tried it.) You'll see the message, "Would you like to set Live Search as your default search provider?" as shown in the screen above. Click Yes.
Next, you'll see Firefox confirmation prompt. Click Add.
Your search box will now default to Windows Live Search. Pretty slick.
You can change it back to the default, or set another engine, to the default by clicking the little arrow next to the Windows logo in the search box. This will bring up a dialog that lets you reset or customize the search box.
