I was thinking about just posting here, just posting to Channel 10, or cross-posting to both blogs. In the end, I don't like the idea of cross posting, so I think what I'm going to do is just post occasional links to the pieces that I do for Channel 10 from this, my Spaces blog. (An idea so simple that it took me weeks of analysis to come up with it.) This way I can continue to post whatever nonsense comes into my head here, and post real work related stuff on Channel 10.
That said, here are links to a couple of video pieces that I produced this week. The Steve Lindsay piece is amazing, and that fact has nothing at all to do with me putting it together. Steve is a wizard with computer systems and he explains and demos his Vista Media Center/Xbox 360/Windows Home Server based home entertainment system in 40 minutes. If you're at all interested in this stuff, you'll want to take a look. He even inspired me to get my media center fixed up again, and it's worked out really well for me.

Show us your tech: Steve Lindsay edition
Steve Lindsay has an amazing Windows Media Center system that includes support for remote access, Windows Home Server, Xbox 360, and even his home phone.
I went up to Long Island to talk to Steve about his setup, which consists of mostly standard PC gear: a Windows Vista Media Center PC, a Windows Home Server, and a few Xbox 360s used to show the Media Center content on the televisions around the house. Of course, Steve takes these components to a whole new level with the addition of multiple high-definition television tuners, gigabit Ethernet, home telephone integration, and a massive raid array of hard disk storage.
Getting Podcasts on the Zune
A couple of weeks ago, I was asked about getting podcasts on the Zune and so I thought I would put together a little video that describes the process.

I produced the Zune piece as a sort of informal screencast introduction to the new Podcast features in the Zune. I'm not really happy with it, but I posted it thinking that somebody might find it useful. What I think I want to do in future with these is write actual scripts and produce the stories more professionally. My home studio is turning out to be a great workspace and I have some top flight production tools, so there's no reason not to do it the right way. The last studio component that I need are lights and I think I can make these look good. I'll let you know when I hit one that I'm really happy with.

Technorati Tags: Channel 10,Microsoft,Work,On10.net,Windows,Xbox,Xbox 360,Window Home Server

<msn:type>blogentry</msn:type><live:type>blogentry</live:type><live:typelabel>Blog entry</live:typelabel>

<dcterms:modified>2007-12-07T07:27:04Z</dcterms:modified>
